The Song Of The Soul Set Free:   Everyone has a Soul Song. It may be expressed in many different modalities. Sometimes it may come to us in a dance, or a song, or a poem or a work of art. It may come to us as a word which we are meant to contemplate. It will come in a unique way to each person. It is empowering to give expression to new songs and new images for the soul’s journey today. Bernadette Purcell and Deirdre Ni Chinneide will facilitate this day of reflection.

New Monasticism Ireland is part of a global contemplative movement in spirituality today….it is informed by the journey of great spiritual innovators such as Teresa of Avila and Thomas Merton:

“There can be no stillness without discipline, and the discipline of external silence can help us towards the inner tranquillity which is at the heart of authentic religious experience. In meditation we take steps to achieve this stillness. We quieten our bodies and our emotions, then, gradually allow the mind to become single-pointed. Stillness within one individual can affect society beyond measure” (Bede Griffiths)
